We are back with another employee spotlight and in this edition, we have Kayla Chen, a valuation analyst for Eqvista. She is responsible for helping clients with business valuation services and financial analysis.
Hi Kayla, it’s great to have you in this interview. Firstly, congratulations on your new role! Can you briefly introduce yourself?
Thank you for the opportunity of joining Eqvista. I was born and grew up in the Greater Bay Area. After finishing high school, I studied abroad to pursue my university degrees in Accounting and Finance fields. I am a fast learner with the ability to multi-task and the eagerness to learn new things and meet new people.
Tell us about your background before working at Eqvista.
Right before joining Eqvista, I was working as an Accounting Assistant in the Greater Bay Area. From this experience, I have deepened my knowledge in accounting and developed skills in revenue recognition and financial statement analysis.
What are your day-to-day responsibilities?
Working as a valuation analyst at Eqvista, my daily responsibilities include financial statement analysis, research on industry and comparable companies, financial performance forecast and equity valuation utilizing appropriate approaches.
What do you love most about working for Eqvista?
There are lots of things I love about Eqvista; friendly colleagues and supervisor, suitable work environment and so on. The thing I love most is the opportunity to know more about different industry business models and learn how to conduct valuation for various companies.
How has Eqvista helped you grow as a professional valuation analyst?
At Eqvista, I have opportunities to learn and use various financial models to conduct valuations for clients in different industries. I get to enhance what I have learned from university and develop analytical skills for valuation.
What are your future goals at Eqvista?
To accumulate knowledge and skills for being a professional valuation analyst and thrive with Eqvista.
What do you think is the key to success when faced with difficult challenges at work?
When faced with difficult challenges, I think we should always remain calm and objective so that we can prioritize things to do and come up with a better solution.
