Stop and Restart Vesting

After creating your company account in Eqvista, you must have added shareholders and issued shares. 

If you choose, you can stop the vesting process of the shares issued to the shareholder.

Here are the steps to follow:

Step 1: Log into your Eqvista account and choose the company account. 

On the dashboard, click on “Securities” on the left-hand side to get a drop-down menu and select “Equities”. 

Step 2: Once you select, you will be redirected to the following page. 

Note: On this page, click “Create New Class” to create an equity class and if one is created, you can issue shares and implement a vesting schedule. 

Then, click the equity class created, a panel will appear showing the details of those who have been issued shares from this class. 

In this case, we will click “Series A” and select the grant “SA-001”.

Step 3: You will be redirected to the grant details page below. Here, click on “Actions” and then from the drop-down menu, click on “Stop Vesting”.

Step 4: By doing this, a window will appear where you can begin the process of stopping vesting. 

The vesting stop date will be automatically filled. If the vesting stop date is not today, then you can edit it. The amount of shares vested is based on the entered vesting stop date. The earlier the vesting stop date, the lesser the amount of shares vested. 

Once you have done this, click on “Stop Vesting”. 

Step 5: On the Equities page under Securities, the shares after stopping vesting are still “Active” and you can perform all the actions – Edit grant, Transfer shares, Repurchase shares, Restart vesting, Cancel grant, and Delete grant similar to normal grant.

To restart vesting, click on the grant name “SA-001” and you will be redirected to the equity grant details page. Here, click on “Actions” and then from the drop-down menu, click on “Restart Vesting”.

Step 6: By doing this, a window will appear where you can restart the vesting of shares. 

It will automatically fill in the date, which is the vesting stop date you have entered previously. If you want, you can edit the restart vesting date. 

Once you have done this, click on “Restart Vesting”. 

Step 7: With this done, the vesting schedule will be restarted according to its schedule as shown below.

Note: Similarly, you can also stop vesting issued options and warrants with a vesting schedule.
