Step 1: Log into your Eqvista account and choose the company you want to make the plan. From the Dashboard, click on “Cap table” from the left-hand side of the panel, and select the option “Vesting and plans” to be directed to the next page, as below:
When you reach this page, click on the “New Vesting Plan” option on the upper right-hand side of the page.
Step 2: You will then be on the next page which would look like the one shared below.
Here, you will first have to select the vesting type. Click on the field beside the option and in the drop-down list, select “Advanced: Milestones”.
Note: The milestone vesting plan is the one where the person would be able to earn the options or shares after the set milestone has been achieved.
Step 3: As soon as you select this, a drop-down window will appear where you can then fill in the details for the plan.
Begin by adding the name of the plan and then fill in the other details such as the first milestone title and the percentage of shares that will be offered once the milestone has been achieved. You can add as many milestones as you want. Here, we added 3 milestones. To add more milestones, click on the “+” sign on the left-side below it.
And using this method, you can easily increase the number of milestones in the plan. You can also remove a milestone that you added by mistake by clicking on the “-” sign. Just make sure that the total percentage of the shares that would be given out is equal to 100%. In fact, you will see a message that says “Total percent: 100%” on the bottom of the “+” and “-” signs.
Note: In case you add a percentage that goes above the total of 100%, you will get a warning as shared below.
This means that you will have to adjust the percentage here to make it equal to 100%. The percentage here is the percentage of the shares that will be vested once the milestone has been fulfilled.
Once you have added all the milestones you want to be added in the plan, click on “Submit”.
Step 4: You will then be redirected to the page where you can see all the vesting plans you have along with the plan that you just created.
From here you can now use this plan to issue shares to your employees or shareholders as per your plan.
