How to View Documents in Shareholder Account?

With Eqvista, you can decide the type of access each user on your account should have and instantly give them access. 

One such type is shareholder access, which provides access to view grants and documents, participate in board resolutions, and sign electronic certificates. 

Here are the steps to follow:

Step 1: Log into your Eqvista account and choose the company account to view the documents.

Once you do this, you will be redirected to the shareholder access view dashboard. On this page, you will find data to manage your transactions from the dashboard. Check out the support article to understand the dashboard. 

On the dashboard, click on “Documents” on the left-hand side.

Step 2: Here, you will see Securities Documents and Other Documents. Securities Documents are share certificates that the company created for you.

Other Documents could be any form of documents such as reports, agreements, certificates, term sheet, tax returns, and board consents shared with you. 

Note: The documents must be shared with a shareholder to be viewed in the shareholder account. Check out the support article to learn how to share documents with your shareholders.

#1 Securities Documents

Let’s assume that you want to view the share certificate issued to you. To do so, click on “View” next to the document name under Securities Documents as shown below.

Once you do this, you will be redirected to the equity grant details page with an option to view the certificate. 

To view or sign the certificate, click on “View”.

Note: The certificate can be both signed here and under the “My Tasks” section. To know how to sign a certificate and about the task section in the shareholder account, check out the respective support articles.

Once the certificate is complete (signed by both the company and the shareholder), it can be downloaded by clicking “Download all completed”.

Once you click “Download”, the certificate gets downloaded as a zip folder in your Downloads. 

Double-click the zip folder to open the downloaded certificate in PDF format. Each certificate has two looks – Classic and Modern. 

In this case, we have selected “Modern”. Double-click the PDF file to open the downloaded certificate in the modern look.

#2 Other Documents

Other Documents could be any form of documents such as reports, agreements, certificates, term sheet, tax returns, and board consents shared with you.

Note: The documents must be shared with a shareholder to be viewed in the shareholder account. Check out the support article to learn how to share documents with your shareholders.

Note: If the company attaches a document when requiring shareholder acceptance, the document can be found under “Other Documents”.

Suppose you want to download a document shared with you. To do so, click on “Download All” to download all the documents or “Download” next to the document name. 

Once you click “Download”, the document gets downloaded in your Downloads. In this case, the document gets downloaded as an Excel sheet.

Double-click the Excel sheet to open the report in Excel format that was downloaded.
