What is Included in a Vesting Report?
A vesting report holds all the information regarding the total amount vested during a certain period for common & preferred stock, options, and warrants. The amount of unvested shares at the beginning and end of the vesting period is also included in the report.
Note: To generate a vesting report, you must implement a vesting schedule while issuing shares, options, and warrants. In addition to this, create your vesting plan or choose from six default plans. To know about vesting plans, check out the support article here!
Once you have issued a grant with a vesting schedule then you can use the Company or Stakeholder option to generate the vesting report.
After choosing the option, the report gets downloaded as an Excel sheet in your Downloads. Double-click the Excel sheet to open the downloaded report.
The report has two sheets – Vesting Report and Transaction Detail. The first sheet is a cover that tells you what you will find and the company name.
Click “Transaction Detail” to see the second sheet, as shown below.

The downloaded vesting report includes:
General Details:
- Shareholder: The name of the shareholder.
- Type: The type of shares issued to the shareholder. It could be Common, Preferred, Options, and Warrants.
- Class: The name of the equity, option, or warrant class.
- Grant Name: The name of the shares issued.
- Status: The status of the grant – Active, Expired, Partially Cancelled, Fully Cancelled, and Restored.
- Issue Date: The date the shares were issued to the shareholder.
- Vesting Start Date: The starting date of share vesting.
- Vesting Schedule: The name of the vesting plan. It could be six default vesting plans or a customized plan.
Begin Balances:
- Begin Shares: The amount of shares present with the shareholder at the selected start date.
- Begin Vested: The amount of shares vested until the selected start date.
- Begin Unvested: The amount of shares unvested until the selected start date.
Vesting Transactions:
- Vesting during period: The amount of shares vested in the selected start and end date.
End Balances:
- End Shares: The amount of shares present with the shareholder at the selected end date.
- End Vested: The amount of shares vested until the selected end date.
- End Unvested: The amount of shares unvested until the selected end date.
