How to Select Rsu Restriction When Issuing Equities?

When issuing shares to shareholders on Eqvista, you can choose RSU restriction. To make things easier, here is a step-by-step guide on how to select RSU restriction when issuing shares.

Step 1: Log into Eqvista account and select the company account. 

On the dashboard click on “Securities” from the left-hand side panel for a drop-down menu and select the option “Equities”. 

Step 2: Now, you need to begin the process of issuing shares to the shareholder from where you can choose the restriction.

Note: On this page, click on “Create New Class” to create an equity class and if you have created one, you can issue shares and implement a vesting schedule. 

Then, click the equity class created, a panel will appear showing the details of those who have been issued shares from this class.

In this case, we will select “Series B” and click on “Issue Grants”.

Step 3: You will be redirected to the next page to select the equity class again from the list available.

Once you select the equity class, a button will appear that says “Add New Grant” and click on this.

Step 4: Then, you will then be redirected to the page where select the shareholder and then issue shares. 

Here, you have the option to search for the shareholder or add a shareholder from here directly. 

Note: The shareholder profile must already be created. Check out the support article to create a shareholder. You can click “Add New Shareholder” if you do not have one.

In this instance, the shareholder’s profile already exists, so we type in the name of the shareholder to get the name on the right side. Then, click “Select” beside the shareholder’s name.

Step 5: Once you select the shareholder, a new panel will appear to add the details – the number of shares issued, the price per share, the date of issuance, and the share name.

The last option is where you need to choose the “Vesting Schedule”. Select “Yes” and three options show up – the vesting plan, the vesting start date, and the vesting restrictions as shown below.

Note: You can add a vesting schedule while issuing shares, options, and warrants. Check out the respective support articles to learn about this.

Note: When selecting the restriction, you will get a list of three options – No restrictions, Restricted Stock Units, Restricted Stock Awards, and Phantom Stock. To know more about restrictions, check out the respective support articles.

In the vesting restrictions section, add the RSU to the vesting plan you are using.

Once you have selected the options, click on “Submit”.

Step 6: After issuing shares, you will be directed to a page showing all the equity grants issued from the equity class you just issued.

Select the grant name “SB-003” as shown below.

Step 7: When you click, you will be directed to the equity grant details page. You can see the type of restriction placed on the vesting plan is “RSU”, as shown below.
