Role Overview
As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) focusing on Venture Capital & Private Equity, you will be the frontline ambassador for Eqvista, Inc.’s solutions. Your role will involve generating and qualifying leads within the venture capital and private equity sectors, setting up meetings for the sales team, and driving new business opportunities. This position demands a proactive, energetic, and target-driven individual who can thrive in a demanding, high-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Generation: Identify and research potential leads within the venture capital and private equity sectors through various channels, including outbound prospecting, industry events, and social media. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified leads.
- Cold Outreach: Conduct cold calls and send personalized emails to engage with prospects, introduce Eqvista, Inc.’s solutions, and set up meetings. Employ effective sales techniques to capture interest and drive engagement.
- Lead Qualification: Qualify leads based on their fit and readiness to engage with the sales team. Assess and prioritize leads to ensure alignment with company criteria and sales goals.
- Sales Coordination: Collaborate with the sales team to understand target markets, ideal customer profiles, and sales strategies. Schedule and coordinate meetings and product demos for the sales team with qualified leads.
- CRM Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of lead interactions, follow-ups, and sales activities in the CRM system. Track and report on key metrics and performance indicators to ensure effective lead management.
- Market Insights: Stay informed about trends and developments in the venture capital and private equity sectors. Use this knowledge to tailor outreach strategies and effectively engage with prospects.
- Campaign Support: Support marketing campaigns by providing insights into lead quality and campaign effectiveness. Collaborate with marketing teams to refine messaging and outreach strategies.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor personal performance against targets and KPIs. Analyze results to continuously improve outreach strategies and maximize lead generation and conversion rates.
Requirements
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in sales development, lead generation, or a related role, preferably within the venture capital, private equity, or financial services sectors. Experience with equity management or cap table solutions is a plus.
- Sales Skills: Proven track record of successfully generating leads, qualifying prospects, and achieving sales targets. Strong understanding of sales processes and techniques, particularly in the financial or investment sectors.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with potential clients. Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a high-pressure environment.
- Resilience: Ability to handle rejection and remain motivated in a demanding role. Demonstrated persistence and determination in achieving sales goals.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with CRM systems and sales tools. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
