Managing common equity grants is now easier and more efficient with Eqvista. The Spreadsheet function allows users to add, edit, and delete shareholders and grants in bulk and view all information in one place. It works similarly to Excel, but you can store all of your information in one place and not risk losing your records. 

Note: The spreadsheet feature is only available to Premium account holders. Please upgrade your account if you want to unlock this feature.

Here is the step-by-step guide to viewing the table for common equity grants under Spreadsheet view.

Step 1Login to your Eqvista account and select your company account.

On the dashboard, click on “Spreadsheet” from the left side menu.

Step 2: Once you click, a page will open for you as shown below. Under the “Select Table Type” menu on the right-hand side corner, click “Common equity grants”.

Step 3: Under the “Manage Company Common Equity Grants” page, you can perform various spreadsheet functions like create, edit, or delete existing and new grants.

You can add a new shareholder, equity class, grant name, share amount, share price, and other vesting details. If you want, you can apply vesting schedule for equity grants in the spreadsheet view

After adding or editing the details, click the “Check Data” button. If you want to cancel the process, click Discard all Changes”.

Note: Grants under the same equity class must have the same equity class name, otherwise the system will create a separate class. During the saving process, every new class name would create a new equity class.  

To add grants to non-existing shareholders, you would need to switch to the “Shareholder” table and add a new shareholder, then click the “Save” button. Check out the support article to learn how to add shareholders to the spreadsheet table.


Step 4: After your information has been checked, a data validation message will appear and two things can happen: either the entered information is right and you can save it, or some information may be missing or incorrect.

If some issues or details are missing, the validation message will appear in “Red” as shown below.

Once the information has been checked, click on “Save”.


Step 5: After data validation, the shareholder details will be added to the spreadsheet under the “common equity grants” table.

You can also perform other functions like “edit” and “delete” in the spreadsheet under the “common equity grants” table. 

In this way, you can manage the shareholders and grants of preferred equity, options, and convertible instruments.
