With this tool, users can compare their company to other public companies and gain a better understanding of their strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for growth.

Note: The company comparable feature is only available for premium account holders. Kindly upgrade your account to unlock this feature. 

Here are the steps to follow:

Step 1: Log into your Eqvista account and choose the company account.

On the dashboard, click on “Modeling” on the left side to get the drop-down menu and select “Company Comparable”.

Step 2: Once you select, you will see the modeling description and two options to perform comparable analysis.  You begin by selecting the option:

  • Eqvista List (Beta): A great starting point for users who are looking for a quick overview of the industry. While the list is not comprehensive, it provides a foundation for comparison and analysis.
  • Public List: Offers a more comprehensive view of the market. The list includes a wider range of companies, allowing you to compare your data with a larger pool of potential competitors.

In this case, we have selected the option “Public List”

Step 3: After choosing the option, you need to enter the name of the company or ticker in the space provided as shown below.

To search the companies, click on the “Search” button.


Step 4: When you click on this, the results of companies are displayed that match the selected industry. From here, you will be able to perform the following functions:

#1 Full Screen

Just to explain further, you can view the results in full screen by clicking on “Full Screen”.

Select “Exit Full Screen” to exit the full screen option. 

#2 Filter Results

To narrow down your results, click on the details button as shown below.

When you click on the button, a drop-down list appears, and select the options to filter the results.

#3 Search

If you want to search from the results, then type the company name or other details in the search bar. The company’s name that matches the searched word will appear. In this case, we are going to type the first few letters of the company’s name in the search bar.

To view the public companies selected for comparison, click on the “Selected Companies” button.

Then, select the companies and click on the “Compare” button.


Step 5: Once you click, you will be redirected to the results page displaying the various metrics to compare with selected public companies. The results page can be viewed in Grid View and List View. By default, the Grid View option is selected.

Then, enter your company’s value for the following metrics to compare with public companies:

Valuation Metrics

Enter your company’s Sales Multiple and EBITDA Multiple as shown below. Then click “Update” to view the results as

#1 Summary

If you want the summary of the results – Lowest, Highest, Median, and Average, then click on

#2 List

You can view the results as a list with details of Ticker, Company Name, and Ratio.

#3 Chart

For a graphical representation of the results, click on this option.

Use the “<” and “>” to fill in the details of the next and previous metrics. 

Liquidity Metrics

Fill in your company’s Quick Ratio and Current Ratio in the space provided. Click on “Update” to view the results.

Efficiency Metrics

Similarly, enter your company’s Receivable Turnover and Asset Turnover as shown below. Then, click on “Update” to view the results.

Debt Metrics

In this way, fill in your company’s Debt to EIBDA and Debt to Equity in the space provided. Click on “Update” to view the results.

Profitability Metrics

Finally, fill in your company’s Return on Equity and Return on Assets as shown below. Then click “Update” to view the results.
