How to Edit Fair Market Value or FMV?

The fair market value of a company’s share provides you with a rough estimate of certain stocks in the open market. 

Note: the FMV of a company’s 409a valuation is applicable for 12 months after the valuation date unless there is a significant material event.

The FMV of your company’s shares can be changed and deleted by you. Still unsure how?

Here are the steps to follow:

Step 1: Log into your Eqvista account and select the company account to edit the fair market value. 

From the dashboard, click on “409A Valuation” on the left-hand side of the menu. 

Step 2: Once you do this, you will be redirected to the following page. 

Here, click on “Manage Fair Market Value (FMV)” on the right-hand side of the page.  

Step 3: Once you do this, you will be redirected to the next page where you can edit the fair market value.

Note: The fair market value can be added by clicking the “Add Fair Market Value“. To further understand about adding fair market value, check out our support article.

Step 4: To edit the values, click on “Action” on the right-hand side to get the mini drop-up menu as shown below.

Here, you will see two options – edit and delete. Edit is for changing the details, and the delete option will delete the valuation.

To edit, click on “Edit”.

Step 5: By doing this, you can change the fair market value, total valuation, source, expiration date, and select share FMV as shown below. 

Note: The fair market value can be shared with shareholders who are given shareholder access by selecting “Yes” in share FMV. 

Once you have done this, click on “Save”.
