Role Overview
We are seeking a driven and dynamic Account Executive to join our team, focusing on portfolio companies. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with our portfolio company clients, ensuring they maximize the value of our platform. You will act as a trusted advisor, guiding clients through the complexities of equity management, while identifying opportunities to expand their usage of our solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders at portfolio companies, serving as their primary point of contact.
- Sales Growth: Identify opportunities to expand our services within existing accounts by understanding clients’ needs and proposing relevant solutions.
- Client Onboarding: Lead the onboarding process for new portfolio companies, ensuring a smooth transition and setup on our platform.
- Consultative Selling: Act as a trusted advisor, providing expert guidance on equity management best practices, cap table management, and compliance.
- Product Education: Educate clients on the full range of our platform’s capabilities, ensuring they are fully leveraging the tools available to them.
- Revenue Accountability: Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets by driving revenue growth within your portfolio of accounts.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including product, marketing, and support, to ensure client satisfaction and address any challenges that arise.
- Market Feedback: Gather and communicate client feedback to help inform product development and enhancements.
Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in a client-facing role, preferably in sales, account management, or business development within the FinTech or SaaS industry.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of equity management, cap tables, and the challenges faced by portfolio companies in managing their equity structures.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and compelling manner.
- Sales Acumen: Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets, with a consultative sales approach.
- Client-Focused: Demonstrated ability to build and nurture strong client relationships, with a focus on client success and satisfaction.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to understand client needs and propose tailored solutions that address those needs effectively.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with portfolio companies, venture capital firms, or private equity.
- Familiarity with equity management platforms or related financial software.
- Experience in a high-growth startup environment.
